About the event
Maize (corn) and Cacao are two sacred plants deeply rooted in the cosmovisión of Mexican indigenous cultures. They are integral to rituals where prayers to each nurturing deity are present. FLORESTA chef Julio Zetina, an expert anthropologist and chef, will eloquently unravel and showcase these beautiful stories and prayers. As we indulge in the tastes, textures, and aromas of these local, seasonal ingredients, Chef Zetina will guide us through the cultural significance.
Moreover, we'll have the opportunity to savor Pulque, a probiotic fermented drink extracted from the sap of the Agave Plant. Often hailed as the breakfast of champions, Pulque is a drink associated with the milk of Mayahuel, a nurturing goddess, and is regarded as the beverage of the gods.
Immerse yourself in the products of the orchard and delve into the narrative of this captivating biosocial experiment, El Huerto Roma Verde. It's not just a gastronomic experience; it's a journey through the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico, where every flavor and aroma carries the essence of tradition and reverence.
